The Alternate Chan Alliace (sometimes referred to as the Alternate Chan Federation) is a loose coalition of imageboard built around free speech. The ACA was created as a response to the censorship of 8chan, and various other communities.
The ultimate goal of the ACA is to provide a greater amount of autonomy for users, and create a distributed and integrated federation of imageboards.
Imageboards belonging to the ACA must be law-abiding sites and have some minimum moderation standards.
Various boards from other federated sites can be accessed on the Boards page.
The advent of the ACA brings with it several benefits:
- A group of like minded administrators who support free speech.
- Administrators can collectively implement new features (since the majority of us are using the
same back end), and collectively combat attacks against our various platforms.
- Open communication between various imageboard administrators.
- If a community begins getting censored or shutdown by an external entity, users can seamlessly move between different *chans.
