what are you watching this season anon?
Galaxy Express 999 good movie so far.
Blast from the past with all the 70s anime charm in it.
I'll check it out. I've been watching Azur Lane and Assassin's Pride. Both are not great, but the chick in Assassin's Pride is cute and I've been playing Azur Lane obsessively for over a year
Initial d, lel.

How Heavy are the Dumbells You Lift Anonymous 11/02/2019 (Sat) 13:44:46 No. 111 [Reply]
Granted, I'm only on the third chapter, but this manga hasn't done anything to maintain my interest. I thought I'd enjoy it, considering I'm a gym enthusiast myself. However, I may stop reading it and drop it.
I watched the anime, it was ok but only cause I like gym stuff
I've not seen the anime, but after seeing the manga, I'm not to highly motivated to watch it. I'm a gym enthusiast, I really thought I could relate to this series more, but I really don't.

Know any other gym-related mangas? I'm pretty sure I'm about to stop reading Dumbells.
eh not really baki is kinda /fit/ related, don't really know any others
welp, I too got tired of it pretty quickly
OP here again. I already stopped reading it. Most boring and bland story line I've seen in a while.

Asuka Asuka 09/25/2019 (Wed) 09:49:42 No. 35 [Reply]
1 post omitted.
Fuck off.
На основе и красные таблетки

have sex
Let's talk about the ending. I think it's obvious from the build-up to that last scene that Asuka also managed to break free from the Fanta sea by her own will like Shinji just did, practically meaning that they are now the Adam and Eve of this new world. What I don't get is why Shinji immediately tries to kill her. Even at that point he still wants to be a fucking incel - this I understand, but him doing it right after defying Rei/Lilith made me cringe. Her reaction which was caressing his face while also maintaining a poker face and then blurting out her typical tsun tsun line was hilarious though. And of course Shinji had to break down and cry like a fucking faggot after eventually realizing he will now have to live and breed with her, just like how all the spergs who defended his characterization throughout the decades would react in the same situation. Anyone who says Shinji is relatable is a fucking mentally ill manchild who refuse to have personal responsibility in life, because they saw the same refusal to grow up in him, but I guess that's exactly what Anno wanted to get at.
> all for himself like a chad would.
I understand the idea however.
Rei is a emotionless doll. Fucking Rei is like fucking a manikin.

Taking Asuka and other woman on the other hand is a great idea.
>that they are now the Adam and Eve
No true, when kaworu and rei are talking it's clear that there are people quitting instrumentality too - we just don't see them.

Shinji tried to choke asuka because, once he quit instrumentality, he falls into the machine of misunderstandings that drives the whole work: he's afraid and rejects (destrudo) her. Asuka, instead, caresses him (libido), showing affection, and then once again with her harsh words attacks him: this teaches that a person can be both gentle and cruel, that what she felt inside that was showed through that gentle touch it's not what she aftwrwards formulated in words - another example of the ambiguity and dualism of human relationships.
And no, Shinji is not relatable, he's an extremely characterized individual, just like asuka and rei. Everyone in that shows represent an extremization of human traits.

I almost never watch anime anymore nowadays because the manga format allows authors and artists to be as crazy and meta as they want while in anime you're much more limited by budget constraints, the quality of voice acting involved, the animation, episode length, the production studio's own touches etc. An ancient but good example of this are the more mature oriented Tezuka manga works, such as a few scenes in the Siddharta Gautama series, where he utilized cinematic paneling techniques which do not work at all when they are actually animated.

I would start my manga reccs with a lewd, light reading one that is simply impossible not to like:
>Arakure Ojousama Wa Monmon Shiteiru
It's basically a boy meets girl story with the premise that the short haired, big boobed main girl is the school ojousama who has always abused her position and fame to get boys expelled because that's what ojous do. The boy is the public morals committee chairman who (rightfully) suspects that she would target him for expulsion next since he keeps getting ahead of her in tests and the like, and so tries his best to avoid getting involved with her. She then resorts to various attempts to lure him to get him caught doing indecent acts to her, but keeps getting hornier and hornier for him in the process. Hilarity ensues, with more than a bit of nice lewds along the way. I initially thought I would get pissed by the constant cock teasing for over 9000 chapters such a premise would usually bring, but after a few chapters it got me staying curious on how the ojousama would make a fool out of herself next.

Somebody posted pic related on the old 8/a/ which introduced me to this crazy ride.

What does /v/ have to say about the best romance anime ever made?
Redpill me on Toradora OP
Chu2byou was better, until the last episode that is
>Redpill me on Toradora OP
Ryuji and Taiga develop a real relationship and what feels like an earned emotional bond. They unknowingly end up needing each other more than either of them wants to recognize initially.

don't watch the dub
>don't watch the dub
Fuck you I only watch dubbed anime.

What have fellow 16anons been watching lately? Anonymous 09/20/2019 (Fri) 00:07:27 No. 10 [Reply]
The most recent thing I've watched is the 1986 Fist of the North Star film.
I'm about a dozen episodes in on Legend of Galactic Heroes. Great work, though not as super deep as I thought it would be. That's fine with me.
Before that, I watched the old Sukenan Deka anime that Kill la Kill is semi-based on. I'd kind of like to see the live action if it's any good; looks very cute and comfy.
And before that, The Promised Neverland. I LOVED that anime. Haven't read the manga yet.

I'm considering watching more pre-2000s anime. I love the absolute despair captured on those old animation cells and soundtracks. I'd also like to watch more Gundam/esque; preferably the more "War is Hell" kinds, not the flashy gay bishoujo shit like SEED. Just, ew. G Gundam is camp classic though. It's got that old Toonami/AS nostalgia factor to boot. I absolutely adore all of the pre-2000s styles. Big fan of all the western anime like Bebop, Trigun, Outlaw Star, etc.

Also I'm sadly a bit of a normie. I like anything Dragon Ball (can't help it), Bleach (read the novels; the most recent one is necessary world-building), Hunter x Hunter/YYH, Evangelion/Gainaxshit, Takahashi shit (Ranma/Inuyasha, haven't seen Urusei Yatsura) and other shonen staples.

And of course I have a patrician side too, having read Uzumaki and Vagabond as a middleschooler. Oh! And good old Cromartie Highschool.

I would love some good delinquent and Yakuza manga, if anyone has some recs.

Pic related is based on a true story.

Really? No one gonna say anything about OP's pic?

The Epstein reference? Wut about it?

Haven't seen the movie yet but looking forward to it!
Finally got around to installing Mcomix so I've been reading Death Note.

The Onideus Fall 2019 Anime Review!

Watch BlackFox, it's pretty okay.

Not sure if it's a movie or a pre-series special or... not sure. I hope there's more.

Assassins Pride might also be worth watching, first episode was kind of interesting. A bit on the surreal fantasy side.

Shinchou Yuusha looks like it might be a semi-decent throw away comedy... but it's isekai video game comedy, so it's a bit over done.

Same with Hataage! Kemono Michi... it's like perverted furry isekai comedy.

And then there's ZX - Code Reunion, which is like... techno magical girls or... some such biz... might be okay, I'll give it a few more episodes.

Then there's Mugen no Juunin: Imortal aka Blade of the Immortal... which is, eh... well it's pseudo anime, basically commissioned by Amazon... it's like Kenshin... not the cartoony series, but the realistic versions. Pretty dark, brutal, gory and sadistic all around. The animation style looks like Magnetic Rose from Katsuhiro Otomo's "Memories".

There's new episodes of SAO this season too, although I'll probably wait for the full set of English dubs and then just binge watch it.

Message too long. Click here to view full text.
