That's old news. For as long as I can remember, the 4chan moderators have disallowed posting from VPNs and Tor exit nodes. But yes, you are absolutely right. 4chan is definitely not a place of anonymity. Pseudonymity maybe (big maybe), but definitely not anonymity. But it's also no secret that 4chan has been a NSA/FBI honeypot since the late 2000's, back when moot was still in charge. I wouldn't be at all surprised if a large portion of the moderators on there are employees of the FBI and NSA: hence why posting from VPNs and Tor exit nodes wouldn't be allowed because it would make their job of identifying individual posters more difficult.
It's a real shame that 4chan has gone down this path. It used to be pretty decent website.
