Does anybody here play "I wanna be the guy" fangames? Maybe even the original. They are quite fun, i am currently playing "I wanna kill the Kamilia 2" and at the end of stage 6. Share your progress if you do play them here.
I played the original but I gave up lol. I like hard games but I prefer hard turn based games over hard action games. mabye I just got filtered.

The chink should just make a movie to get it out of his system. He clearly wants to but somehow he keeps thinking he'll slowly transform videogames in to movies with 1,5h long cutscenes and motion capturing hollyjew actors.

Comfy snow/winter games Anonymous 11/13/2019 (Wed) 17:49:22 No. 342 [Reply]
Looking for some games with this feel, setting or theme being related to winter or cold snowy settings preferably urban.
Off the top of my head I can think of Frostpunk, Modded STALKER and some levels in the Metro games. A couple that come close are Cryostasis: Sleep of Reason and The Long Dark. The reason that I only say these come close is that Cryostasis isn't as comfy as the three listed and The Long Dark is set in a very rural area and does not invoke the same feelings as come from the image.
(183.48 KB 256x327 SSX_3_Coverart.png)
For me, one of them is SSX 3. I like the music selection, the feeling of pulling off sick combos, and the overall winter/snow feel.
>>picture interpreted as winter + future + urban

>Snatcher - Sega CD
Snatcher is an extremely great winter time game. The game itself is set in a city in winter and there are several parts involving snow. Highly recommended for the vibe you're going for.
I think Silent Hill - PS1, but it's 2scary4me
>Snowboard Kids - N64/PS1
>1080 Snowboarding - N64
>Skifree - WIN95, this one is a classic but a little too frantic to be comfy. v nostalgic though
PS1 had a bunch of snowboarding games, if you find clunky 90s x-treme stuff to be "comfy". Doesn't count as "urban" per your definition tho. Also at least one snowmobile racing game I think. I think a lot of survival horror games might be set in winter, and PS1 has a lot of those.

Lots of games have a couple winter-themed levels but very few games are exclusively so, it's kind of interesting. It's much more common for games to have the opposite (summer) theme.
Diddy Kong Racing - N64 has a cozy ice world with 4 levels.
Mario 64 has at least one good ice level.
Majora's Mask has a good snow town.
Metal Gear Solid - PS1 starts out in the snow.
FFVI - SNES starts out with some snow city stuff.

RG350 Purchase Anonymous 10/15/2019 (Tue) 19:08:15 No. 227 [Reply]
How did I do boys, bought it for retro SNES, was it a good purchase?
OP here again, mostly for Earthbound/Yoshi's Island

nice. be sure to update us when you get it.
I'm holding out for the Pocket Go 2 (The same JZ4770CPU + screen with dpad and stick swapped). Maybe the GK350H, if they end up releasing kernel source. I have the RG-300 which is similar with a weaker cpu.
>Earthbound + other RPGS + slow games
- should play perfectly
>Platformers without special chips
- should play great, with a frame or two of extra input lag (basically every emulation on lcd is going to do this, only solutions are retroarch + desktop-class cpu for 2-3 frames of runahead, or real hardware + crt). Emulation is still great for the slower castlevania-speed platformers including Super Metroid, it's really just SMW-romhack-tier hard and fast games where you feel it.
>Yoshi's Island and other special chip games - these are harder to emulate than the usual SNES games.
My RG-300 only hits about 38-45 fps on the title screen if I turn frameskip off. You can make it playable by playing the PAL version with auto-frameskip, but it's not perfect. It will depend on just how much better the JZ4770 + optimized emulators for it on are compared to the JZ4760 + emulators on the current RG-300 and RS-97.
I saw ETA Primes recent video reviewing the RG350 recently and it looked like Yoshi's Island ran fullspeed, here's a link if you're interested.

Super Nintendo Thread Anonymous 10/06/2019 (Sun) 21:53:14 No. 99 [Reply]
This thread is for discussion of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, also known as the Super Famicom and related games and accessories.
11 posts and 3 images omitted.
on 8chan's /vr/ board, there was a thread for archiving old ROM's. They posted NES and Genesis packs but I never checked back to see if SNES pack was posted before 8 got nuked. Did anyone save the SNES pack?
If you want roms check out this anon: https://the-eye.eu/public/rom/

They don't have everything but they have a ton.
(135.63 KB 1364x884 rutracker.png)
>where to get roms
way back in the 56k / slow DSL days, I used to download individual titles from emuparadise. obviously that's gone down now. I got most of my fullsets over the past several years from archive.org and rutracker.
archive org is sort of a whack a mole game, as people will upload fullsets but they will get DCMAd, then another person will post etc. It's pretty great for old cartridge games, anything GBA or older you'll almost certainly find a fullset on there.
rutracker is pretty great for newer systems and disc-based sets. I got my PSX and Mega-CD fullsets from there within the past year. just search for "$systemname set", and there's lots of content.
The eye is pretty good for grabbing single roms here and there. I think you can script up a scraper with wget, but their collections aren't complete so it's not really worth it.
I've also used Vimm's lair and Edgeemulation for some stuff recently.
The hardest part about the fullsets is getting ~thousands of files unzipped and sorted them in some way that makes sense, is easily searchable, and doesn't have too many files in any one folder (some flashcarts have limitations on files per folder and don't accept zipped roms).
a quick DDG for "snes fullset archive org" ->
The "no intro" sets are a great place to start, as they don't have too many duplicates and have all the officially released games without much bullshit. The "goodset"s are great if you're looking for a more expansive collection that also includes romhacks, weird homebrews, and that sort of thing.
