I've never gone too deep into it, but I'm sure if you dig through enough Steam Curators, you could probably find a curator with similar tastes to your own, and just go through their catalogue and play some of the things they recommend going forward. Also 16/v/ isn't that bad, just slow. You will find the more time you spend contributing to v, people will come out of the woodwork with ideas. Beyond that, I don't know of any other good places to look for games. I play games very slowly because I spend so much of my free time reading, researching and discussing so I will probably never run out of games to play. I already have a huge backlog of purchased and unpurchased games, probably enough to last me a couple years at this rate before I buy anything.
Some games I'm enjoying right now are Ara Fell (first image), Death Stranding, and Insurgency: Sandstorm. I am also close to finishing Doom: Eternal. Personally I don't really care for Death Stranding, but I intend to finish it to find out what happens. Doom: Eternal is quite good but I lost momentum and have taken a break. Most of the time I am too tired after work for competitive gaming, so I've been slow to progress with Insurgency, but overall I find it to be a fantastic shooter with a good community. The game itself has some glitches on my machine (3970x and RTX3090) unfortunately or I would probably be more hyped about this one.
Hopefully I've given you a good start.
